4th Grade - Educating Great Minds For The Future!

September News

The 4th graders have been doing a Wonderful Job adjusting to their new setting.  They have settled into a routine and have worked extremely hard to make sure all of their work is completed on time.  Many of them have earned 3 Sunshine Grams for completing all of their daily assignments.  All of my students have been keeping a daily check on their behavior by monitoring it through our Behavior Highway.  When they are not following a classroom rule they move their car into the yellow.  When they continue this behavior, they move their car into the red and need to fill out a traffic ticket.  This program allows the students and teacher to evalute their behavior and try to correct the problem as soon as possible.  Our goal is to have an environment where each student can follow the classroom rules and show respect to their peers as well as the teacher.

Welcome To Mrs. Krofel’s 4th Grade * 2008-2009 School Year!

***This year will be filled with exciting and new material for you to learn and explore!  Our Social Studies Curriculum will focus on interesting facts about our Wonderful Country.  You will learn about the land, people and regions found throughout the 50 states of America.  Students will work hard to memorize all of the 50 States and Capitals.  This fall, our class will carefully monitor the Presidential Election process and hold several mock elections of our own.

***Our school is proud to be apart of the RTI process that carefully monitors all student’s reading and math abilities.  Through a periodical testing process, students are identified as needing help to improve their current reading and math skills.  They will work in small groups to improve their current abilities.  All students will work on their reading fluency through a weekly fluency passage that they will practice at home on a nightly basis.
